Personally, I prefer it stir fried!. However, you can boil it, for no more than 5 minutes as advised!. Theoretically, it ought to go in a separate saucepan, but I'd throw it in with the pasta!. The cooking times are the same, and it's easy to separate the courgette out if it needs a little bit longer!.
In your kitchen, you are the "chef de cuisine" and you can you can do whatever you want!. Just don't tell anyone Italian I told you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stephennnn, I heard that!:))))
I'm Italian and we don't (normally) boil courgettes or zucchini!.!.!.It is a pulpous vegetable and so absorbs liquids quickly!.!.!.If you put in in with the pasta, it may turn to mush!. When I make minestrone, I always throw in one or two cubed zucchini, my kids hate this vegetable, but they never know I put it in soup because it nearly always disappears:)!.
So, if you want to boil it (for health reasons) go ahead and do so but only cook it for a few minutes, 3 minutes should do it!.
If you want to add it to the pasta, don't cut it too small, then add it to the pot with the pasta for the last 3 minutes; then drain, season with grated cheese and don't forget to add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil for flavour!.
You could also slice them thickly, sprinkle with a (little) bit of chopped garlic (or garlic powder), a bit of chopped parsley, drizzle some olive oil and bake/broil in oven (I use toaster oven) until tender then add to cooked pasta!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wellllll!.!.!.!.!.!.!. You can, but it is not really advisable!. Courgette is far better either raw or quickly sauteed!. That is fried, stir-fried or even brushed with butter and grilled!. Boiling (especially too long) will destroy the pleasing crispy nature, making it mushy/soft and (worst part) very bitter!. It also kills vitamins unnecessarily IMNSHO! LOL!
When making a pasta with courgette, I chop it up and when the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander and quickly add the courgette with some butter, nutmeg and a good screw of milled black pepper to the pan!. "Fry" for a couple of minutes (just to heat up rather than really cook) and then add the pasta and mix well together!. A little milk or cream helps too, but not too much! Then grate on the cheese and serve!.
I also (sometimes) serve the courgette as a side-dish!. Just slice the courgette and dip in a batter made of milk and a spoon of flour, salt and pepper!. Shallow fry until the batter is done (golden brown)!. This is far more popular in our house, but YMMV as they say! Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here in Greece it is quite common to boil courgettes whole, and put on the plate whole!. It is mushy and quite bland but VERY healthy and i love it!.
More tasty is to slice it, drizzle with olive oil and salt and griddle it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boiling will destroy the flavour and texture!. Either slice and fry lightly in oilve oil or butter or slice and sear it dry (cast iron frying pan is best) so that it gets a chargrilled appearanceWww@FoodAQ@Com
Yes boil it!. Probably about 5 minutes!. Good luck!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's best stirfried but you could always steam it over the pasta!. I think boiling would leave it quite bland and mushy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Slice thinly, toss in a bit of olive oil & griddle in a hot pan for 2 mins!.!. Yum yumWww@FoodAQ@Com
