When you cook them in the beer add some sliced onions and garlic and use a good dark beer like Guinness!. I actually like to use both Guinness and either Bass Ale or Harps Ale because I like the taste of Black and Tans!. Remove the Brats and onions from the beer, keeping the onions!. After removing your Brats from the beer, continue to boil the beer until you reduce it by at least half and then brush it on the sausages while grilling!. Take the leftover onions and saute them in a pan or on the grill with a bit of butter and serve over the grilled Brats with spicy mustard and maybe some sauerkraut!.

As you get done grilling them, instead of just putting them on a platter, keep the pot of beer that you cooked them in (if that's what you do) on the grill keeping warm, and put them in there to serve out of!. They will soak up more of the beer and stay warm and not dry out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
when we cook them in the beer we poke holes allllllllllllllll through the brats so the beer gets IN them!! we think it makes a huuuge diff but thats just us! and ya we throw in onions and garlic cloves and black pepper!! sometimes we even cook them with bacon!! helps add flavor like crazy!! or wrap'em in bacon or whatevr!
