When one is cooking with foil which side faces the oven & which side faces down? (shiny versus dull-er side?)?!
ie if you are wrapping meat or whatever in foil to cook it!.!. which side faces the oven!? the shiny side or the dull-er side (or doesnt it matter!?) for some reason i thought having the shiny side out reflects more heat away from the food wrapped in foil but i could be talking total bullocks lol (does it not matter and is cooked the same whether outside or inside!?
also what about if you line a baking tray with foil does it matter if its shiny side up or not!? does that effect cooking!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dull down, effects reflecting, and thorough cooking!. When wrapping, shiny side faces out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It makes no difference which side of the aluminum foil you use—both sides do the same job of cooking, freezing and storing food!. The difference in appearance between dull and shiny is due to the foil manufacturing process!.
The exception is when using Reynolds Wrap Release Non-Stick Aluminum Foil!. The non-stick coating is applied during manufacturing to the dull side of the foil!. Always place the non-stick (dull) side toward the food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It doesn't make a whole lot of difference!. The shiny/dull sides are caused by the rolling process where two sheets are rolled together!. The shiny side is where it touched the roller, the dull is where the two sheets touched!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
it doesn't matter which way you put the foil it does the same thing no matter which way you put it!. the reason why there is a shiny side / dull side is the manufacturing process!.

it really doesn't matter - the shiny surface is a result of the manufacturing purpose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
