Answers:
1 cup rice, 2 cups water, pinch of salt!. bring to a boil, then turn down flame real low, when all water is gone, stir good, leave on 1 more min, you have rice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Have two cups of water and one cup of rice!. Bring the water to a boil over high heat, add the rice, and stir just enough to make sure it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan!.
This is the important part: As soon as the water boils again, pop a lid on the pot and turn the heat way down!. Resist the temptation to stir, or even to check it, for at least twenty minutes!. It will take that long for the rice to absorb all the water!. If you lift the lid after that and there's still water around the edges, put the lid back on for another five minutes!.
This will make about three cups of rice, but if you refrigerate the leftovers, you can use them for fried rice the next day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

very basic directions:
1) In a saucepan: 1 part rice, 2 parts water, a shot of veggie oil or butter!.
2) bring to a boil!.
3) Cover, reduce heat simmer!. (very low heat)
4) cook for 12-18 minutes!.
TIPS!
1) There is a great deal of cooking varience among different types of rice (based on their starch content)!. That will affect how sticky or gummy the rice is when completed!.
2) If you allow the rice to boil, it will be gummier!.
3) When I cover the rice to simmer I put a dishtowel over the pan, then put the lid on it and fold the corners up (So that a thin dishtowel is between the cover and the pan--makes for a better seal)
4) It takes a few times cooking rice to get a feel for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I personally only know how to make it in the rice cooker lol!. I'm gonna be screwed when I move out of home and don't have one!. All I do is spray the cooker so it doesnt stick then one cup of rice to 1 1/2 cups of water, then I add a teaspoon of butter to give it flavour and put it on to cook - The more rice you want the more you add eg!. 2 cups of rice - 3 1/2 cups water - 3 cups of rice 4 1/2 cups of water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
