What can I use as a substitute for Cointreau or Grand Marnier?!

Question: What can I use as a substitute for Cointreau or Grand Marnier!?
I don't have much in the way of alcohol except for Amaretto and 151* Dark Rum!. Could I use either of those!? Or do a mix of one of those and some orange juice!?

(It's for the frosting in a 2-layer orange cake, frosting is also orange)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Think the rum would be a better match with orange than the almond amaretto-don't like the sound of almond/orange combo!.Have you thought about using orange juice to make frosting, I often use it in buttercreams and fondant icing!.I know it wouldn't have the same alcohol twang but sounds the safest bet to be honest!.Let us know what you choose and how it turns out!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was going to say give the rum a try --it is often used in fruity drinks-- but as others have said, it will change the flavor!. Brandy might work (with orange zest added), but it doesn't sound like you have that!.
Whatever you decide, I'd highly recommend adding the orange zest to the icing!. If you don't have a zester (and you should) the fine tooth on your cheese grater will work, or you can cut thin strips off the peel with a sharp knife and cut the strips into tiny slivers!. Add zest will really punch of the orangy flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely don't use those if you're doing an orange cake, it will TOTALLY change the flavor!

Cointreau and grand marnier are orange flavoured liquors!. Amaretto is almond and rum!.!.just tastes like rum!. Use orange juice or orange juice concentrate to get the orangey flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can just use orange flavoringWww@FoodAQ@Com

Use some concentrated orange juice and orange zestWww@FoodAQ@Com
