What to avoid in vegan cooking?!

Question: What to avoid in vegan cooking!?
We are having a potluck at work and I want to ensure my dishes are vegan-friendly!. I know the obvious as to what I should not have in my dishes - no meat or meat products!. And also no eggs, butter, milk!. Could you help me with any other items that I would take for granted that may not fit in the vegan family of foods!?

Thanks in advance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
