I was always led to believe sake is made with rice yet many bottles list other grains as the ingredient!. I feel ripped off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vodkas made out of potatoes!? Huh!? Everythings a rip of nowadays (I sound like my nana lol)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Firstly you arent getting ripped off because Sake means alcohol, its not the name of a particular type of alcohol, just the name for alcohol in general!. There many different types of sake, including Shochu, Aowomori, etc, and then each type can again be subdivided, eg Shochu with plums is Ume ShochuWww@FoodAQ@Com

Well, since it's printed right on the bottle, maybe it's a good idea to read it before you buy it!.

By the way, shōchū and other non-rice beverages are referred to as sake in some parts of Japan, so don't take the "rice rule" for granted!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pay attention to the bottles, you're not being ripped off, you're just not reading it!.

Likeways not all vodka are made from potatoes, there's even one made from the lactic acid in milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
