I hate salad. Help?!
Ever since I was a kid I have hated the taste of anything that typically goes in a salad!. In highschool I stayed thin with sports and gym class!. Now as an adult I still cannot stand the taste of it!. I've tried different dressings but I can't get past the veggie part!.
Does anyone have any advice or salad recipes I should try!?
Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was raised not eating vegetables, but wanted myself, and eventually my family, to be healthy!.
Taste is acquired!. You can learn to like most things by eating them about 10-15 times!.
I used to hate most vegetables and many fruits, but I would choose one and make it several times a week and force myself to eat it!. By the third or fourth time I could tolerate it!. A few more times, and I liked it!. I did this with broccoli, cauliflower, beans, brussle sprouts, carrots, grapefruit, and many other veggies!.!.!. I'm a huge veggie lover now, they make up the majority of my diet, I eat very little meat!.
When I met my husband and we moved in together, I put a meal on the table and he said, "I don't eat vegetables!." I said if he was going to live with and have children with me, he did!. He complained he didn't like them-- now he loves most vegetables, including spinach which he once informed me I would NEVER get him to eat!.
So just keep trying them!.!.!. systematically adapt to one at a time if you're really determined!. If you don't like the crunchy consistency, try steaming them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What is it that you don't like about salads!? Is it the taste!? The texture!? Do you dislike vegetables period!?
What about toppings!? You can top salads with all sorts of things, like raisins, nuts and meat!. Maybe you could start by eating a salad that has more toppings than salad, then maybe you could add a little more greens with each salad you eat!.
If it's the taste of vegetables you don't like, I suggest trying all different kinds!. Look online, in magazines and at TV shows to get ideas about veggies you've never tried, then try them at a restaurant or by cooking them yourself!. Nowadays, grocery stores stock all kinds of exotic stuff, so there's a good chance you'll find something you like!. When you do, there's another potential salad topping!.
If it's the texture of salads you don't like, try a different kind of green!. When I was a kid, I remember that over and over, I ate the same kind of salad green: iceberg lettuce!. When I grew up and left home, I discovered all kinds of new salad greens!. Again, you can find all kinds of salad greens in stores and restaurants!.
also, remember that tastes in food change as we age, just like tastes in clothes or anything else!. I've come to really like stuff I wouldn't eat when I was younger!. So, if you don't find anything you like after all your experimenting, give yourself some time, then try again!.
Bottom line: Don't be afraid to try new vegetables, new salads and new ways of preparing them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First off, many vegetables are disgusting (to me too)!. The best tasting vegetables are probably just lettuce and onions if you are okay with the taste; spinach is decent too!.
I know it sounds weird, and EVERYONE who watches me eat salad makes a (really rude) comment about what I top my salad with: Yellow Mustard!. Of course it's quite powerful, so just squirt a little and spread it around, but it has far fewer calories than any kind of dressing, and it definitely drowns out the taste of potent veggies (I can't eat cauliflower without it)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the land of salad is limitless!.!.!.!.but you have to be willing to try! you don't like ANY veggies!.!.!.at all!? figure out which ones you do like and try slappin those on a salad!. also, try different salad leaves, there are so many available in stores now!. my boyfriend hated salads too but i've basically made him start eating them!. you have to get those nutrients in there somehow!. he likes something called "butter lettuce" and cucumbers and croutons!. i like taking him to big salad bars because then he can experiment with other things besides the basics to see if there are any more ingredients we can add at home!. but i have to push him to try stuff!. he automatically assumes that because he tried it three, four, seven, even ten years ago, that he won't like it!. your taste buds change!. they mature and evolve like your body does!.!.!.even beyond when you're body stops growing!. age, environment, hormones, antibiotics, being pregnant, anger, happiness!.!.!.!.so many things affect how we taste!.!.!.even the very air we're breathing as we eat can change how you taste something!. so!.!.!.explore!.!.!.don't give up!. you may wake up one day and decide brocolli ain't so bad!. maybe even try steaming veggies and adding salt or adobe or soy sauce or peanut oil or cinnamon!.!.!.there's so many things!. but you've got to experiment!. don't give up!!!! good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can certainly get your veggies other ways!. What veggies do you like!?
Slice up some tomatoes and drizzle with olive oil and put on some mozzarella cheese!.
Steamed broccoli is fabulous, if you need to add a bit of melted cheddar to it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
