Should I put tomatoes at the fruit setting or the vegetable setting on the crisper in my refrigerator?!
Answers:
you should store the tomatoes in the fruit bowl, if you store them in the fridge the starch component will not ripen into the sugar component, giving you hard and flavourless fruit!.
The fruit / Vegetable selection usually controlls humidity!. veges tend to like the humidity, too dry and they wilt, where as the fruit like it to be drier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

CAUTION: Although it's true that tomatoes are technically, a fruit!.!.!.NEVER store them in the refrigerator!. Keep them on the kitchen counter in a basket or mesh container for best flavor!. Cold kill the taste! They will keep at room temp for a week, easily!. This applies to all varieties, even plum, cherry and grape tomatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If your unsure of how to store your fruits and veggies, notice how the store you buy them from keeps them!. Tomatoes should be kept at room temperature, as refrigerating them changes the flavor and texture of the fruit!. Of course, everyone likes things differently so, if cold tomatoes are you thing just pop one in for a few hours prior to eating to limit the effect the temperature will have on them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Neither--place them on in a sunny windowsill (in your kitchen) with the bottoms up!. This will help ripen them more and keep that wonderful taste!. When you place them bottom side up, it keeps them from rotting at the bottom!. Don't place tomatoes in the fridge, it makes them taste mushy and flavorless!Www@FoodAQ@Com
if you like cold tomatoes then pu them in the fridge, personally tomatoes should stay out for a few dayss!.
but, if you like them cold, the fruit setting because it is a little warmer, cold tomatoes are not very good,Www@FoodAQ@Com
