Healthy Substitute for Cheese in Scrambled Eggs?!

Question: Healthy Substitute for Cheese in Scrambled Eggs!?
I'm trying to lose weight and love having eggs for breakfast (I usually do one egg white and one whole egg) but I'm used to eating them with cheese and salsa and if I omit the higher-fat cheese there's NOTHING I can do to make them taste as good!. I've tried spices (garlic powder & chili powder, green and red salsas, torn up corn tortillas, fat free sour cream) but without the cheese they just don't taste even remotely as good to me!. Sometimes feta is an OK alternative to cheddar -- but any other ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Have you tried the soy cheeses!? I hear that they are very good!. (I haven't tried them yet)!. Or you can buy a can of cheese soup, open it, put it in a bowl,(make sure you store it properly after opening it) and add like 2 tablespoons to your eggs while cooking!. That might give them the flavor and if you break down the servings in a can of soup to tablespoons, I think you will find that the amount of 'fat' is going to be very low for each tablespoon!. It can't hurt to try!. Good Luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

use low fat cheeses!. and don't put in very much, just a little!. Cheese with less than 5% butter fat are considered a protein exchange with no added fat exchange!. You could try 1% or 2% cottage cheese as well, same thing, considered a protein exchange without the added fat exchange--LEAN protein exchange!. (1 ounce of cheese, 1/3 cup of 1% and 1/4 cup 2% is the serving sizes!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I honestly don't need anything more in scrambled eggs besides salt!. Adding lots (almost too much) not only makes it taste better, but it becomes quite salty and makes you slow down while eating it!. (of course you probably watch your sodium, which you don't really need to do unless you are at risk of hypertension)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i cant eat eggs without cheese so i feel your pain!.
why not add deli ham (finding out its a very healthy cold cut) and they also have alpine lace cheese which is better for you!.
i make an omlette using egg whites, sliced ham and sliced mushrooms and its pretty tasty!.

use veggies insteadWww@FoodAQ@Com

Try using low fat or light cheddar, mozzarella, pepperjack cheese!. Those should be good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
