Answers:
Whipped cream needs to be refrigerated!. Fondant doesn't do well with being refrigerated once it's on the cake (it will sweat when you take it out and might not look as good)!. So you shouldn't use the two together!. also, unless you add gelatin to stabilize the whipped cream, it will just soak into the cake and your fondant will wrinkle!.

You can use buttercream, or if you want something different you can use apricot preserves that have been warmed so they are spreadable!.!.!.buttercream will probably work better since it will help to disguise any small imperfections in the cake's surface!.

Someone suggested marzipan, which would work well (although it still needs some preserves to glue it to the cake)!. Enough marzipan to cover a cake would be pretty expensive, though, and if you're in the US, most people here don't really appreciate marzipan very much and would be surprised to find it on a cake!. If you do decide to use marzipan, you need a very dense cake to hold the weight of the fondant and marzipan without sagging!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes!. Yes you can!.

You can also use Marsapan!. Heavy, delicious, marsapan!.

Or, heavy, heavy, heavy chocolate!.

Or, you could get some goat curdled cheese!.!.!.And, you know the rest!.

----No!. No you cannot!. You need to use buttercream frosting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sure, why not!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
