How can i make onigiri tastier?!
i love onigiri but find it somewhat plain!. how can i make it yummy without stuffing it with anything, like is there something i can season the rice with to make it taste better without stuffing it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are many different seasonings for onigiri!. Most of them you simply sprinkle on and mix, while the rice is warm!.

I agree with supermum, or add some flavouring to the rice, a piece of kombu or bonito flakes, yuzu juice or peel, a pinch of shiso or some garlic, to the liquid in the rice!.
When I worked in Japan I would buy them at the corner market at night when I went home, them and yakitori or takoyaki's hot in the warming counter!.
For interior flavours, pickled ginger, pickle daikon, umeboshi plums or paste, I like to roll mine in the same furikake as the first lady or just black and white sesame seeds, nori is fine, but not good if your making a batch and eating them over a few days!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
