Can I use Self rising flour if a recipe says to use all purpose flour?!

Question: Can I use Self rising flour if a recipe says to use all purpose flour!?
Answers:
Yes, you can use it, but you'll need to reduce or omit the amounts of baking soda and/or baking powder AND salt, as self-rising flour contains baking powder and salt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You probably could, but would need to adjust the recipe when it comes to other leavening ingredients!. Self-rising flour doesn't require leaveners, or the same amount, whereas all purpose does!. So if the recipe you are using has both A!.P!. flour and say, baking soda, reduce or eliminate the baking soda!. It might also change the texture of what you are making, so you may need to play around (with future attempts at doing this) with adding a bit of baking powder or corn starch to your recipe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, but you will need to reduce or omit the amount of baking powder or baking soda, if called for, from the original recipe!. self-rising flour already contains these types of leavening agents, and if you add in more it will upset the balance of your finished baked good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, but leave out the baking soda!. Self-rising flour, like Bisquik, already contains baking soda!. I would not use self-rising flour in recipes requiring yeast instead of baking soda!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, but the things that you bake will turn out more spongy and bigger!. It will be great for sponge cakes, muffins, but best not to use it for biscuits as it will be fluffy and bigWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you can, but be careful if you're making cookies with it!. Make the cookies smallers because they will expand a bit!.

Good Luck!

God Bless!! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can,but omit salt and baking powders from the recipe!.You will have them in the self rising flour already!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
