Is there any problem pouring hot, salted water down the drain?!


Question: Is there any problem pouring hot, salted water down the drain!?
After we cook in boiling, salted water, my husband won't pour the water down the drain--he pours it out on the street!. Is there any justification in this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's bad for your pipes!. I learned the hard way!. The salt eats away at the lining of the pipes!. Have you ever seen the results of salt water on grass, plants, cars, boats, etc!.!.!.after a tropical storm/hurricane!. It RUINS IT!. It acts like an acid!.
also the hot water can loosen the seals of the pipe joints which can cause leaks and further damage!.
The cure for pouring just plain hot water as in after cooking potatoes is to run your cold water as your pouring down the drain!.
If he doesn't mind dumping salt water outside of the house then let him!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

He might get in trouble pouring it in the street!. The amount of salt you use in your vegetable cooking is very dilute so cannot possibly hurt pipes!. Most modern housing has plastic waste pipes anyway!. He's got a phobia!. Tell him it is fat you don't put down the drain not salt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being Italian and eating pasta most of the time, I would say he's foolish!. It also helps clean the grease from your pipes and keeps them clean!. If he still refuses, put whites in your washer and let them soak in the hot water before you wash them after dinner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

theres nothing wrong with shoving it down the sink!. it'll just clear the pipes out nothing to worry about!. if you want your pipes to be cleared pour the water from a height and when i say the pipes will clear out i dont mean they'll fall out they'll be cleared!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have plastic pipes, he might be concerned that the water will melt the pipes!. My mom does that or she will run cold water down the drain at the same time she pores it down!. He is just looking to make sure that the pipes don't melt!.

He wont pour it in the drain!?!? In many soups!.!. the salt content is high!.!.!. in dish washers, many people add salt to there machines for a better cleaner wash!.!.!.!. Your husband makes no sense!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
