Question: What purpose do eggs serve when baking a cake!?
I recently baked a cake and forgot to add the eggs!! To my surprise it came out fine, which made me wonder, why do we need to put them in there in the first place!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eggs do a lot of things for cakes!. They add color and flavor as it bakes , they help ingredients bind together, help emulsify the ingredients for smoother texture!. they also help , along with other ingredients give the cake its rise!. You can leave them out and some cakes will do fine and even for people with egg allergies I have added some soda which helps with the rising factor and adds moisture!. Have to play with the amounts depending on the recipe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
