Question: Please can some give me a simple but tasty recipe for Sausage Casserole!?
i am making mash with it i have that covered, really just want to know how to make the Sausage Casserole bit

Answers:
I fry sliced onions, and carrots and green beans and so on, but you can simply get a frozen stir fry veg in the store and do that in the casserole dish!.
Half way through add some pork bangers or whatever sausage you fancy!.
Get them stir fried until done!.
Add some Bisto gravy powder mixed with a cup of cold water with that and simmer!.
Serve hot on mashed potatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Shopping list: 8 Cumberland Sausages, 6oz Shallots, 2 Garlic cloves, 8oz Mushrooms, 2 Bay Leaves, 2 tbsp Olive Oil, 50g Butter, 1 lge Stalk Celery, 2 large Carrots, bunch of fresh Parsley (petroselinum crispum), 350ml Bordeaux, 300ml Beef Stock, 1Kg Potatoes, spring onions, 6 rashers Pancetta, Salt, Pepper!.

To prepare: Thinly slice the shallots, wipe and cut the mushrooms in half, dice the celery and carrots!.

Wash, dry and finely chop the parsley!.

Peel the potatoes and cut into equal pieces about 2cm diameter!.

Place potatoes in a saucepan of salted water!.

In a large casserole dish put the olive oil and butter, add the sausages and fry for five minutes, constantly turning till they are lightly golden coloured!.

Add the shallots, garlic, mushrooms, celery and carrots!.

Heat for a further 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are softened!. Add the wine and bay leaves bringing to the boil then reduce by half and pour in the stock gradually to cover!.

Cook on the hob for a further 10 minutes then cover and place in the middle of a pre-heated oven for one and a half hours at Gas Mark 5/175°F/80°C!.

Stir in half the parsley to the casserole when you remove it from the oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is one my partner and I like - any type of sausage will work but I like a combination of Sweet and Hot Italian sausages!.

SAUSAGE CASSEROLE

1 1/2 pounds sausage
6 slices bread, cubed
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
4 ounces mushroom pieces, drained
1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup green onion, diced

Brown sausage, drain!. Layer bread in bottom of 9 x 13-inch well-greased baking pan!. Sprinkle sausage over bread!. Add cheese!. Beat eggs and mix with remaining ingredients!. Pour slowly over cheese!. Refrigerate overnight!. Bake at 325 F!. for 45 minutes!.

Note: Other ingredients may be added or substituted for the vegetables!.

We like the more flavourful sausages so usually look for mustard or garlic in them, other than that any will do!.

red pepper chopped, chili spice, a can of mixed beans (yes I am serious!) and a packet of passata!.

Cook the sausages then transfer to a baking dish, add all the other things and bake until its done!.

Sounds like someting fun to try! Try a pack of sausage, sliced or broken and fried as you would normally! Once browned, place in a cooking pan!. Scramble about 6-8 eggs and spread over your sausage!. Potatoes would be a great addition to this!. Cover the caserole with your favorite cheese and bake for about 45 minutes!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
