Answers:
soda helps the rise and powder helps the spread of the cookie this is my own experiance I did include a link to help you!. never use old powder soda or flour the power disipates over time always use fresh!. flour can actually take on a sour flavor so again try not to use anything older than 6-8 monthsWww@FoodAQ@Com

Baking is very different from cooking - it's very specific and it's important to follow the recipe to a tee! Baking powder and baking soda are not interchangeble - they cause different chemical reactions in the recipe!. Baking powder has a shelf life, so check the expiration date before using in a recipe!. Baking soda should also be fresh if using in a recipe, but you can always use "old" baking soda for cleaning or as a deodorizer for the fridge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it calls for baking soda, use it even if it's old!. Baking powder does different stuff- i've had baking disasters caused i used the wrong stuff!. don't ruin your cookies with baking powderWww@FoodAQ@Com

Use whatever the recipe calls for!. Baking soda never gets old!. You wouldn't believe how long a box lasts me and it still does its job!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it calls for baking powder, id use the baking powder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!! complete difference!. get the rite thing or dont make it!.!.!.!.!.!.
