Is it possible to make bubble gum at home?!

Question: Is it possible to make bubble gum at home!?
how!? do you have a recipe!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It's really not recommended to make gum at home, though you can buy kits for you and your kids to make it together!. I have included a bunch of sites featuring these products!. I searched the net, and I found a recipe that I have included!.

Before World War II, bubble gum was made from a rubber product called chicle, a latex sap from a tree in South America!. Scientists came up with various gum bases that mimick the chicle, but making gum base requires excessively high temperatures and chemicals!.

Here is a recipe I did find on the net for making bubble gum:

"How to Make Bubble Gum"
Materials Needed:
one oz!. package of bubble gum base
one and a half teaspoon of bubble gum flavor
volumetric measuring cup
two small cookie cutters(3/4 in!.)
one and a half tablespoons of corn syrup
one cup of confectioners sugar
microwave safe mixing bowl
wooden mixing spoon
measuring spoons
oven mitt
rolling pin(optional)
wax paper

Instructions
1!. First thing's first wash your hands
2!. If the corn syrup is not liquified, put the bottle in a pot of hot
water to liquify it!.
3!. Put one cup of confectioners sugar in the microwave safe mixing
bowl and make a crater in the center!.
4!. Empty the one oz!. package of bubblegum base into the crater and put the bowl in the microwave on medium to medium high for 15 seconds!.Wearing a oven mitt carefully remove the container and press against the bubble gum with the wooden spoon!. If the bubble gum is soft and mushy, remove it!.If not microwave it like before until it's soft and easy to mash with a wooden spoon!.
5!. When the base is soft, add one and a half tablespoons of liquefied corn syrup and heat again on medium high for another 15 seconds and remove from microwave!.
6!. With the wooden spoon, mix the bubble gum base, the corn syrup and the sugar until they are about halfway mixed together, then add one half teaspoons of bubble gum flavor and continue mixing until it is blended together!.When the mixture has cooled and it gets hard to stir, knead it with your hands!. The consistency you should have will be similar to cookie dough!. Once you have a soft dough like lump of pink bubble gum place it on a sheet of wax paper dusted with confectioners sugar!.
7!. Now you are ready to shape the bubble gum!. You can flaten it with your hands or with a rolling pin and cut it with a bubble gum cutter
in to the shape you desire!.
8!. After you have cut the bubble gum let the bubble gum dry for one hour, then lightly dust each piece with confectioner's sugar and store them in a air-tight container!. If you want to you can wrap each piece of bubble gum individually in wax paper instead of storing them in container, if you do the gum should stay fresh for to weeks!.
9!. When you are cleaning the mixing bowl ad the wooden spoon try to wipe off most of the mixture with a paper towel before washing!. Then wash them with warm water and soap!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

1/3 cup Gum Base
3/4 cup Powdered Sugar
3 tablespoons Corn Syrup
1 teaspoon Glycerine
1/2 teaspoon Citric Acid
5 drops Flavoring

Into a microwave safe or heat resistant dish, place the Gum Base, Citric Acid, Corn Syrup with Glycerine and flavoring mixture!.

Microwave Method: Place all of the gum base into a microwave safe dish!. Heat the gum base on high for 1 minute!. Remove the gum base from the oven and stir it!. If it has not melted, place it back in the oven and heat for 30 more seconds!. Stir it again and repeat heating until the gum base is gooey!.

Stove top Method: Place the gum base in a heat resistant dish that will fit in a sauce pan of boiling water!. Cover the pan and bring the water to a boil!. Turn the heat down so the water is at a simmer!. Heat the gum base until it becomes gooey!. This can take up to 10 minutes!. Be sure not to let the water boil dry!.

Measure out 1 heaping tablespoon of powdered sugar and set it aside for later!. Pour out about one half of the remaining powdered sugar onto your work surface!. Make a well in the middle of the pile!.

Pour the melted gum base mixture into the well!. The gum base may still be hot but it will cool quickly!.

Dip your fingers in the powdered sugar and begin kneading the gum base and sugar together!. Work it as if your are kneading bread dough!. Add more of the powdered sugar when ever the dough gets sticky!. Continue adding sugar until you have a smooth, stiff dough!. You must knead the gum dough until all the sugar is worked in!. This will take at least 15 minutes!. The more kneading the better!. Kneading too little will cause the gum to break up when chewed!.

Now it's time to roll out your bubble gum and cut it into pieces!. You can make a rope about 1/2 inch in diameter and then cut individual pieces about 1/2 inch long!. Using a scissors make this very easy!. If you like your gum in sticks, roll out the gum with a rolling pin and then cut out the strips with your scissors!.

Dust all of the gum pieces with the tablespoon of powdered sugar we set aside!. Store your bubble gum in a ziplock bag!. You can wrap individual pieces in wax paper too!
