Nice Meal for my boyfriend?!
I want to cook a nice meal for my boyfriend tonight!.
He loooves spicy food, so I was going to make Thai Curry for the main course!.
What can people think of that would go well with that!? (any special rice or noodle dishes, that ingredients arent too expensive)!.
I want to make a starter and dessert as well but i dont have any ideas!.
The only things he doesnt really like are cucumber and olives!.
ThanksWww@FoodAQ@Com

I know it has become a bit of a cliche but a simple prawn cocktail usually goes down very well as a starter!.!.!.and if you want to make it a little special!.!.
take one sweet gem ( not little gem) lettuce or, if you can not find one, an iceberg will do!. and shred about half of it, thaw out a pack of small prawns and drain on kitchen towel!.!.or you can buy them fresh at Asda under their own label!.!.prepare half a dozen spring onions for eating!.
Next, mix one spoon of ketchup with two to three of mayonnaise and a splash of lemon juice, taste it and adjust the quantities to suit yourself, then make as much as you want of it!.!.!.!.!.or buy a jar of Coleman's seafood sauce and a fresh lemon!. Layer the shredded lettuce in a bowl or champagne or Margarita glass with a few prawns!.!.but don't be mean, between each layer, top with a really good dollop of sauce and tuck three spring onions down the side, sprinkle with a pinch!.!.a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper and serve with a slice of buttered brown bread and a wedge of lemon!.
You can make these in advance and keep them in the fridge for a few hours , but do not put the sauce on until you are ready to serve!.
Take a good sized frying pan!.!.non-sick and with a lid!.!.and fry a thinly sliced onion, small whole muchrooms and a little minced garlic on a tea spoon of olive oil for no more than a couple of miutes, add a cup of dry rice, and turn it gently in the oil for a minute then por over two cups of water!.!.hot or cold!.!.and bring to the boil!.!.You can add a stock cube to the water if you want but make sure it is dissolved before adding to the rice; add a pinch of chilli powder, reduce heat to a simmer and cover pan, let it simmer for twelve minutes bu which time all the liquid should be absorbed into the rice!.!.this is great with anything from curry to grilled steak or chicken!.!.and if you want, dress it up with a handful of frozen peas a minute before it is ready!.
Take any soft fruits that are in season, clean and prepare them then place in a cause pan with half a cup of water and a tablespoon of sugar, bring to the boil and then simmer very gently for fifteen to twenty minutes!.!.according to your own tastes; allow the fruit to cool and then pile into glasses or bowls with a spoonful of ice cream or a splodge of double cream or a really good splodge of natural greek-style yoghurt mixed with honey to taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the curry is special enough that you could serve it with plain white rice!. For a starter, I would suggest doing a beef or chicken satay to keep with the Thai theme!. For dessert, how about coconut cream pie!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
