AAAAAAAAAAHhhh!! Don't listen to these people with their glass cutting boards!! They are the worst!! They dull up knives and make an annoying noise!.!. Use BAMBOO!! Better than wood and naturally anti-microbial!! Got you a link, and they are pretty cheap too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I go with the plastic kind!. Unlike wood, they are easier to clean and take less time to dry and you can rest easy knowing that there are no hidden germies in the splinters or areas that have already been cut into!. If you want to take it one step further, a lot of restaurants have 2 or 3 cutting boards that they use, and they color code each one!. E!.g!. Blue for veggies, Red for meat and poultry, yellow for fish or whatever colors you choose!. It helps keep salmanilla and bacteria separate from other foods that may pick it up if the same cutting board has been used for both veggies AND meat!. And the boards that need that EXTRA cleaning or bleaching are easily clear to everyone!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Food safe plastic is the best way to go!.!.!.wood can harbor germs as well as require occasional sanding and wood maintenance!. Glass can be really bad for knives though it does keep clean easily and doesn't harbor germs but again NSF or other food grade Plastic cutting boards are the best!. Choose one that is thick rather than thin and flexible unless you are using it for pastries and cakes and things like that (flexible makes it easier to get flour and other dry ingredients into mixing bowls but are not so great for food prep as they are thin and you might possibly ruin your knife or cut through it!)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends!.
If you have poor quality knives, and don't care about whether they are ruined or not, then buy a glass or corelle cutting board!. They are not soft at ALL, and will absolutely ruin your knives!.

If you have high quality knives, and want to be able to sanitize your cutting boards in the dishwasher, get the white plastic cutting boards!. The ones with a somewhat bumpy surface are great for rolling out pie or cookie dough too!.!.!.not so much sticking!.

If you have high quality knives and don't mind hand-washing your cutting boards all the time, then you'll need to get wooden boards!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Glass boards are very hard on your knives!. I prefer a wooden board and I clean it well after use!. I know, I know!. There's a lot of hype about germs but keep in mind that those problems occur when proper sanitation is not followed!. If I had to choose other than wood, I would choose plastic!. I have a glass board but would never use it for chopping!. I paid too much for my knives to ruin them this way!. It was a gift so I keep it and use it for a cheese and fruit board when I have a party!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My hubby works in butcher shop and they use the plastic cutting boards!. He hates cutting boards that are totally solid like glass or marble!. Actually those kind of cutting boards are really for candy making or other projects!. Yes they will ruin your knives!. You can fit a small plastic cutting board in your dishwasher as needed or wash with bleach or vinegar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definately not glass or marble - ruins your knives!. I have a plastic one for meat and seafood (goes in the dishwasher) and a wood/bamboo one for veggies and stuff!. Works out great, and should ease your mind about the germ problem!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Plastic or wood!. Wood is a real B*!ch to keep clean and you can't throw them in the dishwasher like plastic ones!. Glass is THE WORST, dulls your kitchen knives and is the last possible choice to select!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm no expert, but a reinforced glass cutting board will not house germs or scents and will (believe it or not) last longer than plastic!. DO NOT get a wood board at all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

glass if you wanna keep it, plastic if it's disposableWww@FoodAQ@Com

well bamboo are more expensive but best to clean wipe with very diluted bleachWww@FoodAQ@Com

for me PLASTIC easy clean up in dish washer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The glass one dudeWww@FoodAQ@Com

use the glass kind!. they work great and look very modernWww@FoodAQ@Com

a glass oneeee !.!.!. u can easily wipe it off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
