Self rising flour vs bread flour?!

Question: Self rising flour vs bread flour!?
I'm making pizza tonight for dinner and the recipe calls for bread flour, but my local grocery only has self rising flour, is it the same thing!? Or should I shop around for bread flour!?

Thanks in advanced!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's not the same thing and you will get a different consistency!. Bread flour has more gluten and self-rising is just like all purpose except it has baking powder/sodaWww@FoodAQ@Com

No no, it is most definitely not the same thing!.

Bread flour is a high gluten flour!. It is used for breads and pizzas because these are things you want to have a chewy texture, which bread flour delivers!.

Self rising flour is a lower gluten flour!. It does not deliver chewy products!. It makes things tender!. Think about cakes and cookies!.

Unless you want your pizza to have the texture of your grandma's chocolate chips, I suggest searching more for some bread flour!. A good supermarket should have some!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
