Does egg yolk change in caloric value when it's cooked? (i.e., scrambled or as an omelette?)?!
!.!.!.!.or does it stay the same as what the nutrition facts state on the side of the carton!? I bought Nellie's cage-free grade - A medium brown eggs, 70 calories each!. So my question is basically whether or not the calories increase if I scramble the egg in a frying pan with no extra/added ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
No, calories are basically units of energy!. It is a principle of physics!. The energy cannot be destroyed, just converted into something else!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
http://www!.nutritiondata!.com and put the oil in the pan into the recipe nutrition counter and see what it says!.
You need some sort of oil or something even just a tiny bit to scramble egg without burning or sticking to even non stick pans!.
It should not be a different caloric value due to cooking but I am not too sure as some things do change caloric value due to cooking them rather than eating them in the raw state!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
