I'm personally not a huge fan of refrigerated, night-before sandwiches!. The bread tends to suck moisture from the meat and absorb mayo and mustard!. Plus moisture from the meat makes the cheese a little slimey!. The sandwiches would be ok to eat (though not the best tasting) if you have to make them tonight!. Prep the ingredients tonight (i!.e!. make sure the bread is cut and the meat and cheese are ready) and get up a little earlier tomorrow to assemble the sandwiches!.

Another, easier option would be a sandwich bar!. Have everything preped in separate containers and put the meat and cheese in a cooler and take some plastic forks to help serve (and knives for mayo)!. Set it out on a table, and then let everyone make their own sandwich!. Less work for you, ingredients don't get gross, everyone gets what they want, and your not left with 25 uneaten ham sandwiches if everyone decides to eat turkey instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buy some of the small (dollar sized sliced) loaves of pumpernickle and rye then cut up the ham, cheese, salami and whatever you like in small pieces to fit bread!. Do not use condiments as they will make your bread soggy!. you can build these the night before and place in a tupperware style container to serve the next day!. Put in a cooler to transport!. Take condiments for those who insist, but the sandwiches are fine without them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to make sandwiches for Tea parties so I know what you are talking about!. When I make the sandwiches for a lot of people - ahead of time, I take a plastic container or even a long sheet of aluminum foil!. I place a damp paper towel down on the foil or container!. Not dripping wet, just damp!. Then I put my sandwiches on top of it, place another piece of damp paper towel on top and seal either the lid or foil!. It will keep that way and even the lettuce will stay fresh!. As long as you don't use tomatoes in the sandwich, it should be OK!. Tomatoes make things runny and will make your bread soggy!.

Hope that helps!. Don't know what the cheese will do, though!. I don't use cheese in my Tea sandwiches!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think the bread would get soggy!. and the weight of the ham/turkey cheese and lettuce will squish the bread!. I recommend putting the ham/turkey cheese and lettuce in together as if you were gonna put it inside the bread already but store it instead!. so layer these on top of each other and store them in your fridge!. In the morning just grab your already assembled ingredients put them between the bread, cut them in triangles and they are ready to go!!! good luck!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like Libbyami's idea!.

The owner of the one-woman catering service for a very large group I was in, makes wraps (rolled sandwiches) ahead of time and then she cuts them up and arranged them on trays before serving!. She covers the trays of sandwiches with sheets of plastic wrap for transport!.

Unless you know the people well and can tell them you bought the right kind of tomatoes, I'd leave the tomato out because a lot of people are worried about them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Should be fine!. I would leave off the lettuce as that may make the sandwich soggy, or you will have limp lettuce!. Pack the lettuce in a separate container and any one that wants it can add it themselves!. If you are adding mustard that also may soak into the bread so you may want to LIGHTLY butter both top and bottom to act as a barrier for the condiments that you put on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have kind of an aversion to bread thats been put in the frigde over night, I hate the sogginess it gets!. Why not do tortilla pinwheels instead, they seem to do better!.
You just basically layer what you want along with lettuce and mayo perhaps, and roll up tightly in plastic and refridgerate over night!. Un roll before the outing and cut into circles about an inch!.

When we make sandwiches for such an event (or funeral),
we leave the bread slices whole, with butter & filling!.
Save the end-crusts, & put them back in the tube-bag!.
Store in the frig overnight, or freeze if longer needed!.
(do not freeze things light lettuce & tomatoes)
Do not cut into the triangles until you get to the event!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeah! it will still be good!. but when you bring it outside if its hot make sure it stays cool so the cheese doesnt go bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah, they will be fine in the fridge until the next day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
