Traditional Green Tea Mochi Recipie?!


Question: Traditional Green Tea Mochi Recipie!?
I am 16 and not extremely skilled with the kitchen, but I do know my way around!. Can you help find me a traditional way of making Mochi with the following!.!.!.
-Green tea mochi
-Red bean filling (I will not need the filling recipe because i'll buy pre made)

+ I've heard there is such thing has 'microwavable mochi' if you can find something along the lines of that, that would be wizard!.

I've looked on Google and I've read some weird recipes with gelatin!.!.!. I just want the traditional version!.

You do not need gelatin, but proper "Mochi" made in Japan is an art form, and can be difficult to master, Mochi is a pounded rice cake made with high quality sweet rice cooked and then mashed into cakes, for green tea type they will more commonly use powdered green teas to flavour and colour the mochi!.

I am a former chef and worked for a Canadian hotel chain back in the 1980's and we had an operation in Tokyo for a number of years and I did a 11 month stint there as a sous chef in the french dining room!.

For an easier method now, you can buy sweet rice flour, the tea powder and mix the 2 with hot water and make the mochi that way, then steam them for 10 minutes, you add the bean paste or umeboshi plums in pieces or paste before you steam them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
