I invented a drink recipe that i want to patent/sell...thoughts?!
I invented a drink recipe that i am looking to market/sell/patent!. I have no idea where to go from here, except that the recipe is unusual, and is a great substitute for gatorade in that there is a bit of formula involved, its natural and organic!. Anyhow, how can i go about selling either the drink or idea!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you might find you can't actually patent drinks or foods!.!.!. thats why most have "secret formulas" that very few even in the company know, example: Coke: only the CEO has access the the vault with the original coke formula!. That is also why things like Dr Pepper have 200 generic versions: Dr Thunder, Mr Pibb, etc!.
if you used a specific synthesized chemical that nobody has used before in your drink, it may be possible, but using standard ingredients you would have to show how its never been done before to get a chance of receiving approval of your patent!.!.!. and of course patents are public, so all other companies would be able to see how you did it!.!.!. another reason why foods/drinks usually using secret formulas!.
best to do with some sort of organic gatoraid would be make some batches up and find some local natural food shows and demonstrate it there!.!.!. Companies are always looking for this sort of product, and if a representative likes it, they might purchase your formula!. If you don't want to sell your formula, try some local stores and if they are interested in buying, you can probably get a loan and start producing yourself!.!.!. if that goes well, you could expand!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Start with the patent first!. Once you secure a patent on the formula, figure out how you would market the product to compete with Gatorade and other sports types drinks!. What is unique and different bout your product that would make the consumer want to purchase your product!.
You also need to figure out price point, what is your break-even point so you can price competitively!. Need to also research manufacturing facilities, production costs, and consulting a lawyer about the legalities associated with a product that is unique!.
