You can cook beef from frozen but right now I'm thinking you don't have the time to do it!. I agree that your best best is to save it for another night, or bump your tea back a couple of hours, but that would be really pushing it!. Go for another choice for tonight and have the beef as a nice middle of the week meal!. Use the slowcooker if you have it then it' just ready when you get home from work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
When ever i need to quickly defrost anything I put it in a zip lock bag, fill a large bowel or container with hot water and then place the bag in the hot water!. It will thaw things pretty quickly!. You have to try to keep as much air out of the zip lock bag as you can so it doesn't float!.
I do not like to use a microwave to defrost because it always cooks the out side of what ever I am trying to defrost!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can defrost the joint in the microwave and then roast it!.
Or you could just have something else instead and eat the beef tomorrow, when it has thawed!
We had beef today, and here is a little tip!
If you have a lot of meat over, use the beef to make braised beef next day!. It is really tender and so easy for 'hubby' to do!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Another Idea, If you can shop today, buy another beef joint and cook it quickly at a higher temperature!.
You now have a short time to oven roast it!.
The menu might have to change to a quicker meal to be ready for tea time!.Suggestion a chicken meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do you have a defrost setting on your microwave!? If so then use this!. If not, looks like you might have to rethink tea and have beef tomorow, as I don't think you can cook beef from frozen (though I could be wrong on this one)!. Enjoy whatever you have!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Hi!! If you haven`t got a micro wave then your only chance is extra time in the top of the oven, and a late tea, or will it be supper!? Husbands should not be allowed in thr kitchen, then these things would not happen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
As far as I know you can cook beef from frozen but not chicken or pork!. If your stuck I will send some stuffed pork fillet over to your place!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
sounds like a good excuse for a take away and beef tomorrow , or you could do the microwave on the defrost setting,,Www@FoodAQ@Com
