Italian Bread , dipped in cheese and oil?!


Question: Italian Bread , dipped in cheese and oil!?
I used to go to this really authentic italian restaurant nearby that recently shut down, they had bread sticks that you could dip in their grated cheese covered in some kind of oil, does anyone know what kind of bread, cheese and oil is traditional in italy!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

French loaf or Italian are equally good!.!.!. if french I always toast it!.!.

Pour extra virgin olive oil on a plate!.!.!.!. then sprinkle SHREDDED, not grated, parmesan cheese into the center!.!.!. then you can add some herbs or other seasoning if you like!.!.!. I usually use cracked pepper, pinch of dried oregano and pinch of dried basil, tiny pinch of salt!.!.or you can use italian seasoning premix blend!. It's good without the herbs but I like it better with!.

you'll notice the shredded parmesan actually "melts" into the oil!.

Alot of times the extra virgin olive oil is on a little plate, with a little pool of balsamic vinegar next to it too!.!.!.!. it's good to dip it into both of those!.!.!.!.!.!.!.FRESH grated Parmesan or Romano would be good to tryWww@FoodAQ@Com

Olive garden does exactly that!.!.!.fresh garlic bread sticks oiled and sprinkled with parmesan cheese!. Carabbas give you a small plate of EVOO, oregano and pepper for dipping!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

italian bread, olive oil sometimes with black pepper and red pepper flakes in it and pecorino romano or parmesan cheeseWww@FoodAQ@Com

coarse olive oil with herbs and cheeses in it, romano or parmesan or rigata cheese maybe oragano herb bread!. yumm! ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com
