Can a microwave oven be used as a substitute for a gas oven?!
Answers:
Very limited!. It can be used to reheat food and prepare frozen pre-prepared dishes, but not much else!. I would NEVER fully cook any meat in a microwave, since it will end up rubbery and tasteless!. also you cannot brown food in a microwave!. So in a limited sense, it could replace a gas oven for a couple of things, but overall, no it cannotWww@FoodAQ@Com
Short answer is no!.
The long answer is maybe!. There are new microwaves on the market that have halogen lamps (for browning) and fans (for convection) in them that can come pretty close to a conventional oven!. However, they don't do as good a job in most situations!. If you want to exactly reproduce the results from a conventional oven the answer is no but if you're ok with less performance then you might consider one!. If it's a standard microwave then you can forget about it as a replacement!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Microwave is an entirely different science to conventional cooking so you should buy a microwave cookbook!. You cannot roast in a microwave and meat cooked in a microwave is generally disgusting!. You can cook bacon, rice, casseroles etc make jam, but not pastry!.
You can cook cakes - but they dont brown!.
There are things you can cook in a microwave that you cannot cook in a conventional oven - for example you can inject icecream with a fruit sauce and then serve up icecream with a hot filling!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sort of, not properly at all though!.
Microwaves work by emitting the resonance frequency of water, which causes the water molecules to shake violently, thus heating the food you're cooking!.
Gas ovens work by heating the oven, cooking the food through!.
You can use a microwave to cook, but all your food will likely come out soft and poorly cooked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
