Poppy Seeds - appearance or flavor?!

Question: Poppy Seeds - appearance or flavor!?
Do poppy seeds really have much flavor, or are they used more for appearance!?

I can only think of 3 things to use them for - breads, bagels and rolls - raspberry poppy seed vinegrette - lemon or orange or almond poppy seed muffins!. Other than the bread doughs, in the muffins or salad dressing, the other flavor overpowers any flavor of the poppy seed!.

So are they used for anything more than an annoyance that gets stuck between your teeth or something that can throw off the results of a drug test!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
