I want to put a picture on a birthday cake but don't know how..?!

Question: I want to put a picture on a birthday cake but don't know how!.!.!?
My fiance has requested that I make his birthday cake and his friends and I thought it would be fun to put a picture of a squirel on it (that's his nickname) !. SO I need to know the best way to go about doing it!. I thought about using a stencil, but I'm afraid it will stick to the rest of the icing!. Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You should do a frozen buttercream transfer!. Find a picture of a squirrel that's what you want to put on the cake (try googling squirrel coloring pages) and print it out!. Your picture on the cake will be a reverse image of your printout, when you're done!. Put a sheet of waxed paper or parchment paper over the printout!. Then trace the outlines with frosting in a piping bag (use a small round tip, no bigger than a 4 for the small details!.!.!.you can even go smaller if your picture is a small one) and put it in the freezer for a little while!. When the lines are firm, fill them in with more frosting (different color, for the best look!.!.!.that outlined cartoon look)!. Put the whole thing back in the freezer until you're ready for it to go on the cake!. When your cake is frosted, take the buttercream transfer out of the freezer and put it, frosting side down, on the cake!. Then peel off the waxed paper!. There you go!.!.!.cartoon on your cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Go to a craft store, or wherever they sell cake decorating supplies, and buy some fondant!. You can even buy some gray (or brown) paste food coloring there, and color the fondant!. Then roll it out, and cut out the squirrel!. Maybe you could print out a picture for a stencil!? If you lightly wet a tiny paint brush, you could dip it in the food coloring and shadow the lines on the squirrel for dimensionWww@FoodAQ@Com

Draw it in icing!? Idk!.

I know Baskin Robbins can put an actual photograph on a cake, enlarged, and edible (its just frosting)!. But idk how much that costs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
