Question: Cheese and chive biscuits!?
does anyone know a reciepe for cheese and chive biscuits that are simple!? i saw one in the newspaper but my dad threw it out before i could make it :( so i would really appreciate if someone could tell me one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cheesy Chive Biscuits

Ingredients
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1-1/4 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons butter melted

Directions
Preheat oven to 450!.
In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt!.
Cut in shortening with two knives then stir in buttermilk, cheese and chives just until blended!.
Drop dough by heaping tablespoons 1 inch apart on ungreased large baking or cookie sheet!.
Brush tops of biscuits with melted butter!.
Bake 12 minutes and serve warm!.




Cheddar and Chive Biscuits
Ingredients
1 3/4 c!. flour
2 t!. baking powder
1/2 t!. baking soda
1/4 t!. salt
1/4 t!. black pepper
5 T!. butter, chopped
1/2 c!. grated cheddar cheese
2 T chopped chives or 3 T!. bacon crumbles
3/4 c!. buttermilk

Directions
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper!. Rub the butter into the dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs!. Add the cheese, chives or bacon and stir to mix!. Add buttermilk and mix well!. Drop by large tablespoons into a greased baking sheet spacing 2-3 inches apart on sheet!. Bake at 400° for 12-15 minutes until golden brown!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Original recipe yield: 1 dozen

INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C)!. Lightly grease a baking sheet!.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, chives, garlic salt and salt!. Cut in the shortening until the mixture has only small lumps!. Add milk and cheese and stir until moistened!. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet!.
Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden!.

I really like and use this recipe though!. It doesn't have chives but maybe you could put them in instead of dried parsley!.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

INGREDIENTS
4 cups baking mix
3 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1/3 cups water

1/2 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon dried parsley

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper!.
In a mixing bowl, combine the baking mix, cheese, and water!. Mix until dough is firm!. Using a small scoop, place dough on the prepared pan!.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown!.
Combine the melted butter, garlic powder, salt, onion powder and parsley!. Brush over baked biscuits immediately upon removing from oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt!. Cut in cheese and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs!. Stir in milk and chives until moistened!.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface; gently knead 8-10 times!. Roll to 3/4-in!. thickness; cut with a 2-1/2-in!. biscuit cutter!. Place on an ungreased baking sheet!. Bake at 400 degrees F for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown!. Serve warm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
