Can anyone tell me EXACTLY how to boil an egg so the gray part does not go round the yolk?!

Question: Can anyone tell me EXACTLY how to boil an egg so the gray part does not go round the yolk!?
I have tried everything I know to cook the boiled eggs -- and they always get that sulphur circle that is rather gray, around the yolk between the yellow and the white!.!.!.!.but at the
salad bar up the street, the eggs are just
Yellow and white, and perfect!
Should have gotten this is home economics in nineteen-well-you-know-back-then-when, A-hem!
But in the interim,
maybe a former Home Ec teacher out there can share!?!?!!!
(Sorry to Mrs!. Lynch, if I missed that lesson!.!)
Thanks, everyone!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
i have hard boiled the eggs ive used in many restaurants this way for over 20 years and they never had a grey color to the yolks!. (from over cooking)

place the eggs into a large pot and cover with COLD water!.

place pot on the stove and add1/4 cup salt for every 18 eggs!.

turn the burner on high and bring the pot to a full rolling boil!.

remove from heat and let eggs sit in HOT water for 15 minutes!.

place pot into sink and run COLD running water into the pot for 15 minutes to cool the eggs, stirring occasionally!.

drain the water from the eggs and cover the pot with a lid then shake the eggs in the pot to crack the shells and peel in cold water!. place peeled eggs in a plastic or glass jar or container with 1 tsp!. lemon juice to store in a refrigerator!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put an egg in a pot of water!. Let the water come to a rolling boil!. Shut it off and let it sit for 10 minutes!. Your egg will come out PERFECT trust meWww@FoodAQ@Com

Try using a pot that is NOT aluminum!. When we used to cook scrambled eggs for a summer camp the eggs would turn grey/green in the aluminum pans!. We then moved the eggs to a different bowl as soon as they were cooked and they stopped turning color on us!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Greying means you've over cooked the egg , lol!.!.
Cool it for ALOT less , 8 min if you like it hard boiled 5 med ( white is cooked well ) and 3 if you like it runny!. ( Start timing it after the water has come to a boil )Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you try putting a pin hole on the end of the egg!?
If not try it!.
It works!.
also don't overcook it!.
That can also cause the graying!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ok, I put the egg while the watter is cold then bring it up to boiling!. Once it boils, I turn the stove off and let it sit for 10 minutes!. Good LUck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

When they are done cooking I pour out the boiling water and cover them immediately with cold water and let them sit in that for a few minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It comes from overcooking!. As soon as the time is up run under cold water to halt the cooking process!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
