Question: Sides to go with Brats: I will cook onion and green pepper and have baked beans what else!?
My hubby may make cole slaw but is there anything special other than the picnic favorites!?

pasta salad would be good, fruit salad, garlic bread, grill potato half's and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese or do sweet potatoes, grilled fruit slices, stuffed jalapeno peppers are great on the grill!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are a few of our favorites!.!.!.

Sour Cream and Onion Potato Casserole

3 (5!.2 oz!. each) packages dried hash-brown potatoes (on the shelf with the potato flakes)
3 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
24 ounces sour cream
1 (10 3/4 oz!.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
8 oz!. (2 cups) shredded cheddar cheese
5 cups water
1/2 cup French fried onions (canned)

Spray crock pot with non stick spray!. In crock pot combine dried potatoes, and margarine; toss to coat!. Add sour cream, soup, cheese and water; stir to mix!. Cover; cook on low 5-6 hours!. Sprinkle with fried onions before serving!. Remember: DO NOT stir them while cooking!!

This is a favorite for sure! I make it all the time!.!.!.I always make a double batch because we like it leftover!. I do change the recipe a little!. For a DOUBLE batch I use 1/4 c!. diced red pepper, 1 c!. cucumber, and 1 1/2-2 bags (3 1/2-4 c!.) of the cheese crumbles!. I hope you enjoy it if you try it!

i don't have an idea for your sides but i have an idea for your brats!. i like to pan fry them i know it sounds weird but hear me out first!. in a skillet put a 1/4 inch of water in it and add the brats try to keep the 1/4 inch of water while on about medium to medium low!. when you believe they are done add two table spoons of balsomic vingaur and not the realy cheep stuff!. cook untill all the liquid has evapored and there is a nice glaze on the brats then serve themWww@FoodAQ@Com

You could do a pasta salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, parmesan cheese and italian dressing!. Just chill before serving!. It goes well with alot of different types of meat!.!.!.!.hot dogs, burgers, chicken, steak!. I use penne pasta or bowtie pasta!.
Another salad that is easy consists of tomatoes (chopped and drained), cucumbers (seeded and sliced), and onions (julienne cut)!. Add some garlic powder or minced garlic to some ranch dressing, pour over and mix together!. Chill and serve!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Savouries:- Chicken or Mince!.
Line a greased muffin pan with puff pastry!.
Spoon in cold leftover minced meat!. (options curry the mince or chicken)
Cover with another ring of pastry, brush with milk or egg wash and cut a small hole as a steam vent!. (use point of a knife)
Bake in a preheated oven 180C (375F) for about 20 minutes, until pastry is golden!.
(alternatively top with mashed potatoes)

i like cucumbers and onions!.!.!.!.i know a two ways to do them

my favorite way is to cut up cucumber and onions into thin slices in a bowl make a mixture of miracle whip(1/3cup) vinegar (2TBS!.) and sugar(1 TBS,) and salt and pepper to taste!.!.!.!.add the cucumbers and onions and coat well or

Crab STUFFED JALAPENO PEPPERS

12 large jalapeno peppers
12 slices of bacon
1 pkg of imitation crab meat
Slice one side of peppers leaving them intact, remove seeds and membranes!.
Stuff with crab meat!.

Cheese stuffed peppers
5 medium fresh jalape?o peppers
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
3 cups (12 ounces) finely shredded cheddar cheese I used Cabot 50% Light Sharp Cheddar
1 ? teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Cut jalape?os in half lengthwise; remove seeds and membranes!. In a large saucepan, boil peppers in water for 5-10 minutes (the longer you boil the peppers, the milder they become!.) Drain and rinse in cold water; set aside!.

In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce!. Spoon 2 teaspoonfuls in to each jalape?o half; sprinkle with bacon!. Place on a greased baking sheet!. Bake at 400 degrees for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted!. Serve warm!.
Wrap with bacon strip and secure with toothpick!.
Bake in 400 degree oven until bacon is crisp, approx 20-25 minutes, turning as needed!.
