Mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese in them!. Brown burger!. Put burger on bottom of baking pan!. Topped with Mashed potatoes and put it in the oven until well heated!. I'd say 350 degrees for about 20 mins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

SHEPHERDS PIE (POOR MANS PIE)

1 lb!. ground beef
4-6 strips of cooked bacon crumbled
1 medium onion, diced
1/3 c!. sugar
8 medium potatoes
2 c!. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Boil potatoes, mash and season to taste with milk and butter!.
Cook bacon strips until crisp and set aside to drain then crumble them!. Brown ground beef and onion with salt and pepper!. When cooked, add sugar!. Let simmer until heated through!.

In 13x9 pan place meat and vegetable mixture in bottom of pan!. Cover with mashed potatoes and sprinkle cheese on top and crumbled bacon!.

Place in oven on BROIL until cheese is bubbly or light brown!.

If you have a small can of corn or English peas add it the the meat mixture before spreading out in the baking dish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would do a cheeseburger pie (which I am now thinking is what will be on the dinner table tonight)!. :)

Chop up onions & add to raw hamburger with 1 egg, 1/4 cup milk, 2 tbsp!. Worchestershire sauce & spices to taste!.

Spread in bottom of 12x9x2 pan!. Cook for 45 minutes in 350-F degree oven!.

While meatloaf is baking, make mashed potatoes, fry bacon & crumble and shred some cheese!.

Spread mashed potatoes over meat and sprinkle with cheese & bacon crumbles!.

Return to oven until cheese is bubbly!.

Yum! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would probably fry up the bacon and remove from pan and crumble then cook up hambuger and season it!. Then slice potatoes and but them in a oven proof pan with oil in it have them brown on one side and then flip!. Then top with the bacon seasoned hambugar maybe some sauted onions and cheese and then finish it off in the oven!. Not to grand but that is the best I could come up with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Add hot sauce, chopped onions, minced garlic and worsteshire sauce and 1 T of ketchup to the hamburger!. Brown the hambuger until very well done!. Add to the Cheesy Scalloped potato recipe!. Top the whole thing with pickled Jalapeno pepper slices!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your idea sounds great! As does the hamburger/mashed potato baked dish! Here's another option:

Bacon Cheese Burgers with fried potatoes on the side!.
Of course, you will need some onions to fry up with the spuds!

Yum! Yum! Now THAT's what I want for dinner !. !. !. too bad it's not on my diet! ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Toss out the hamburger

Scalloped potatoes covered in chesse (any will do) and chopped bits of bacon makes a great appetizer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds delish! Why not wrap the burgers in the bacon, so the fat drips off and yes, I like cheddar cheese scalloped potatoes ( a'gratin )!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try this!. It is really, really good

Costa Rican Empanadas

2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 lb ground beef, (add bacon to taste-- use your judgment)
1 onion, chopped
1 pound boiling potatoes such as Yukon Gold, peeled and shredded *(or bag of frozen shredded hash browns, thawed)
2 jalapenos, seeded and finely chopped
2 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro
1/3 cup grated queso blanco or Monterey Jack
8 frozen empanada or turnover wrappers, thawed (if you can't find, use pie crusts and cut out 3-6 inch circles using a bowl)

Accompaniments: bottled or homemade salsa verde or red salsa and sour cream

Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over moderately high heat until hot but not smoking, then saute ground beef, bacon, and onion, stirring, until onion is softened (remove excess grease with spoon)!. Add potatoes with salt and pepper to taste and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until potatoes begin to turn golden brown, about 6 minutes!. Stir in jalapenos, tomatoes, and cumin and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and golden brown, about 6 minutes!.

Transfer to a bowl and cool completely!. Stir in cilantro, cheese, and salt and pepper to taste!. Place some filling in the middle of each pie crust round, OR Roll out each empanada wrapper into a 6-inch round on a lightly floured surface!. Put about 1/3 cup filling in center of each wrapper

Moisten wrapper edges with a finger dipped in water and fold each wrapper over filling to form a half-moon!. Press down around filling to force out air and seal by pressing edges together firmly with a fork!.

Bake in a preheated, 350 degree oven until golden brown and heated through

Empanadas may be filled 1 day ahead and chilled in 1 layer on a lightly floured plate, covered!. Reseal edges if necessary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
