Question: I pureed 2 tins of apricots for my baby and he hates them!. Not sure what to do with it now!. In freezer now!.!?
Any ideas!? I thought maybe in cake, like low fat apple sauce replacement, but I'm not sure what else!. I'm trying not to bake too much!. Any other savoury dishes you could suggest!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
If you get some crnberries to cut the sweetness and combine them with the apricots and add a little BBQ sauce you could serve it over pork chops or chicken breasts!. That would be super yummy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could freeze the puree in an ice cube tray, then store the cubes in a zipper bag after they freeze!. They would add a nice boost of flavor to any baked good, or added to stewed fruit (apples, pears, berries, etc) They would also make a nice sauce to put over asparagus-add a little fresh rosemary for a sweet/savory sauce!. You could also run the frozen cubes through an ice shaver, or put them in a blender for a nice, low fat sorbet for mommy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd probably either add them into some Jello or use with pork!. Or look for recipes that call for using apricot jam and just substitute the pureed apricots!. I've used apricots with baked or panfried pork chops and think these would be fine since the flavor is what counts more than the texture!. Add some pieces of pecan and you get some texture into the sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Invest in some Popsicle trays or ice cube trays also work!. Add some fruit juice to the pureed apricots and freeze!. I would use a peach or apricot nectar!. There you have it something that your baby can have when it's hot outside and if your child soesn't want them you can eat them yourself!. Good luck to you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In place of the mangos use the apricots for the recipe!.

Dulce de Mango

Place all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat!. Stir constantly till thick!. Pour into a mold or loaf pan coated with simple syrup and refrigerate for a few hours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
