Question: Healthy baking substitutions!?!?
What are some healthy baking alternatives!? Any suggestions!?
I've heard that you can substitute apple sacue instead of oil!. Does this work!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Theres so much stuff you can play around with!.
I experiment all the time!.
for baked squares and stuff,
You can half the sugar, or use honey / molasses, etc!.
Replace fat with several things like applesauce or prune puree!.
change to egg whites, skim Milk and skim yogurt!.
Use whole wheat flour,
add spices like cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, etc!.
use lots of dried fruits and nuts instead of chocolate chips!.!.!.

It depends on what you're baking!. Apple sauce is often subsituted for oil to retain moisture and provide flavor without adding fat, but you can't usually replace all the oil with apple sauce, only part!. Other solutions include using just egg whites or even an egg substitute instead of whole eggs!. What to substitute for a paticular ingredient often depends on what you're baking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
