Is jarred salsa from the grocery store safe from salmonella (tomato scare)?!

Question: Is jarred salsa from the grocery store safe from salmonella (tomato scare)!?
I usually buy organic salsa but they were all out so I bought Newmans Own!.

Should I worry about salmonella!? I am using the salsa in a recipe and it will be cooked,Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Any canned or jarred tomato product is perfectly safe!. In fact, canned whole tomatoes often taste better and are always safer than the fresh kind!. Reason: the canning process kills buggiesand they are picked at the height of flavor!. Many fresh tomatoes are picked when green and shipped that way, ripening, if ever, along the way!. They never taste right, though -- like cotton!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you are ok the tomatoes are cooked its only the raw fresh tomatoes not from california to worry about!. im not worried cause i have 12 tomato plants in my back yard this year woooo hoooo!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
