1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2/3 cup fine dried bread crumbs

Glaze:
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Emeril's Hot Sauce or other red hot sauce, optional

Position rack in center of oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F!.

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat!. Add the onion, celery, bell pepper, garlic, salt, basil, thyme, and black pepper!. Cook, stirring, until the onions are soft and lightly golden, about 6 minutes!. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool!.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, pork, and veal with a wooden spoon or with clean hands!. Be sure to wash up afterward!.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the eggs, heavy cream, ketchup, Baby Bam, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, and whisk to combine!. Add the egg mixture to the meat mixture along with the cooled vegetables and bread crumbs!. Mix with your hands or a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined!.

To make the glaze, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, and hot sauce, if desired, in a small bowl!. Stir to blend!. Spread the mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf!. Bake the meatloaf for 1 hour and 15 minutes!.

Using oven mitts or pot holders, carefully tilt the pan away from you and drain off the excess grease from the pan, An adult should help you here!. Be careful, hot grease can really burn!. Slice to serve!.

Season lightly with salt & pepper!. Cool in glass
bowl to room temperature!.

1 pound lean ground beef (or combination of beef and pork)
1 1/4 tsp salt (I use Tony Chachere's seasoning salt!)
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion (I use 1/2 - 1 onion depending on size!)
1/2 cup chopped bell pepper (usually 1 whole bell pepper-- seeds and membrane removed!)
1 egg, lightly beaten
8 oz canned diced tomatoes, with juice
1/2 cup quick-cooking oatmeal!.
FOR THE TOPPING:
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp prepared mustard

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F!.

Mix all meat loaf ingreients well and place in a baking dish!. (I use a meat loaf pan with holes in the top pan to drain off the meat fat) which fits over another pan!. This pan is non-stick--so I turn the oven to 350 degrees to keep from ruining my pan!.

Mix ingredients for topping together and spread on loaf!.

Bake for 1 hour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The ingredients you have are perfect!.!.!.

Toss the hamburger in a big bowl, salt & pepper (to taste)chop the onion and pepper finely and add to the meat, mix up a little with your hands, then add the oatmeal and egg and mix it up again!.

At this point you can add some seasonings like garlic, parsley, even a little shredded carrot( whatever you like) and maybe some parmesan cheese to give it a nice taste!.

Once you are done adding ingredients, get a roaster pan and put the meatloaf in it and shape like a football!.

Cook for about an hour @ 375F( assuming you have about a pound or so of hamburger)

When it's done pour the tomato sauce over the top and put it back in the oven for 5-7 minutes to heat the sauce!.!.

My family loves this recipe, I make it at least once a month, It's fast and easy to make!. I use ketchup instead of the bbq sauce!. You can cut the recipe in half if it's to much!.

I also make meatballs from this recipe!. I omit the ketchup and use A-1 sauce if I have it on hand!. I cook the meatballs in a large pan on med/low heat with a little olive oil and put the lid on!. I turn the meatballs every 5 minutes so all the sides gets nice and brown (15-20minutes)!. When the meatballs are about done, I put a jar or two of mushroom gravy in the pan and let that simmer with the lid on for another 10-15 minutes!. I serve it with mash potato's!.

Mix it up really well!. Form it into a loaf on a sheetpan (that has sides) and let it cook at 325-350 for about 45min - 1 hour!.
