Don't forget to salt the water when your getting ready to cook the pasta!. also, when you get the pasta to al dente you want to run cold water over it to stop the cooking of the pasta!. Lastly, after the pasta has cooled you can add a little oil or evoo to the pasta to keep it from sticking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can control the texture of your pasta a lot if you turned off the flame right at or before the time as posted in the box (usually 11 minutes), and just leave the pasta in the water longer!. It will swell up but still retain a sort of Al Dente quality!. The very worst thing you can do is to cook it past the listed time, and then after you've drained it, forget it cool the pasta, so that it keeps on cooking in the coriander!. Then you have a solid sticky mess!. If you are a lover of that Al Dente quality, slightly undercook it, turn off the flame, and let it sit in the still hot water until it's just right, and then drain and COOL the pasta slightly by passing tap water over it briefly!. The exact timing comes with experience and pulling out pasta pieces to check it out before you drain it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Its overcooked!. Bring the water to a full boil, add salt and pasta!. Have a collander ready in the sink!. When its cooked to perfection dump it into the collander and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking!. Return it to the pot, add your sauce and heat the whole thing to serving temperature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you are cooking it too long!.
keep an eye on it!. follow the directions on the box!.
it should come out el-dente cook a few more minutes for softer pasta!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you overcooked it, try following recipe for al dente!.!.!.oh and make sure water is fully boiling before adding pasta and the more water the better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's over cooked!. Keep testing it when you are cooking it for tenderness!. When it's done be sure to drain it right away so it stops cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
