Making Chicken noodle soup , have a few questions?!

Question: Making Chicken noodle soup , have a few questions!?
Hey there, so I have a recipe that was my dad's chicken noodle soup recipe, and i'm going to make it tonight, now I have 3 cans of pre-made broth, I'm assuming each has two cups in it, since the recipe calls for 6 cups, will this be enough broth for it!?

Can I use baby carrots insteads of big carrots!?

As far as the chicken goes, I've never cooked meat before, I have some 'ready to cook' chicken breast, do I cook the meat before hand or cook it in the broth!?

Sorry if these questions seem really obvious, I've never dealt with meat before or made with chicken noodle soup,s o i'm exprementing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Depending on can size each can may not be two cups, a 16 oz can is equal to two cups!. If you have less than this figure out the differance and add that much in water, the fact that you are going to be cooking the chicken with the soup will make it pretty much the same!.

You can use baby carrots, I assume you're cutting them up anyway and all baby carrots are is pre peeled and sized regular carrots!.

For the chicken peices you have two options, you can cut them up and brown them in a skillet on the stovetop with a little cooking spray or oil on medium to high heat, and then put them in the soup or just cut them up and put them in the soup!. The browning will add a nice flavour, don't be afraid to under cook the chicken peices if you decide to brown them, they will finish cooking the rest of the way through in the soup pot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if each can has 2 cups in it you will have enough!.
baby carrots and big carrots are the same, just cut the baby carrots into bite size pieces like you would a big carrot!.
cook the meat before hand: sprinkle the chicken pieces with salt and pepper (this will give the soup flavor)!. use a baking dish and cook the chicken at 350 for 35-45 mins!. the best way to see if the chicken is done is to cut open on piece in the center!. if it's white(NOT PINK) then it's done! let the chicken cool on the bone before you put it in the soup, that way it will hold all the yummy juice!! hope that helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

Six cups of broth sounds perfect!. Yes, you can use baby carrots, but you might want to slice them up a bit - small enough so that you can spoon them up with the soup!. Cook the chicken breast in a a small amount of broth, (or water) let it cool and cut it into bite-sized pieces before adding it to the soup!. If you decide to use that chicken-cooking liquid in the soup, strain out the cloudy bits first!.

Let me know when it's ready - I'm hungry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The 3 cans will equal six cups (it doesn't have to be exact, but if you're worried about it, just add water til you have exactly 6 cups!. You can add boillion to the water if you want so you don't lose flavor)!. Chop your veggies up (baby carrots are fine) and boil them in the broth til crisp tender!. Then add your chopped chicken breast!. It won't take long to cook!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When I make this, I use 3 cans of broth and bring to a boil then put in my chicken until done (12 minutes or so)!. Remove the chicken and then add my vegetabels (yes baby carrots are fine)!. I then shred my chicken with a forf and add it back to the broth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes you can use baby carrots

and you can used packaged meat

if it is not enough you can you water and bouillon cubesWww@FoodAQ@Com

A can is generally a little less than 2 cups, so yes, 6 will be plenty!.
Baby carrots work great, they cook faster, cut them up small though!.
You boil the chicken before you make the soup!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

This should be plenty of stock!. Baby carrots are fine!. As for the precooked chicken, just add it right before you are going to eat so it doesn't get tough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
