Picky husband!?!
I have a few recipes that I rotate through the week, but I don't think they are healthy enough, and I'm starting to get bored of them!. My husband is not overweight, but he's gained a few inches and is worried about gaining weight!. However, he is picky, which makes it hard for me to know what to cook! My current meals are: homemade tacos (not the cardboard shells) with beans and beef, spaghetti, lasagna, tuna helper, hamburger helper, bowtie pasta with chicken, rice with chicken, orange glaze chicken (he refuses to eat it without the skin)!. As you can see these aren't the healthiest of meals, but it's all I can find that he likes (he likes very fattening foods)!. I have a much healthier appetite, and prefer fresh veggies and unprocessed stuff, but I can't figure out what to make that he will like!?!? do you have any good ideas!? also, he hates onions (onion powder is ok), sour cream, and raw tomatoes!. I need to stop him from drinking so much coke and pepsi too, but that's another story!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I replaced ground beef with ground turkey for spaghetti and tacos and no one noticed! not only is it better for you but it's less expensive!.
I wanted to remove some of the red meat from our diet and that helps a lot!.
The biggest thing for you is probably not to SHARE so much what all of the ingredients are and perhaps shoo him out of the kitchen when you are cooking!.
You could end up with him eating healthy and he doesn't even know it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why not try baking some chicken and serving it with rice-a-roni chiken flavored!. If you make the rice a roni like it says on the box only don't cook it all the way done the put your raw chicken on top, cover with foil, and bake for ohe to one&1/2 hours in 325 oven!. Make a cooked veggie on the side!. Try some of the new steamfresh veggies in the frozen food deptartment of the grocery store!. While this is not totally healthy it is a change for the better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Hi,
Stop buying to boxed dinners and make them yourself!.
it will be healthier and he won't even know!.!.!. it should be cheaper too!.!.
Hamberger helper!.!.!. a box of 33cent mac and cheese a 33 cent can of tomato sauce and some turkey burger!. season with your onion powder and if you can buy salt sence it is 1/3 th sodium of regular salt it is real but engineered to be less sodium per teaspoon!.
cook your dinner with out the skin and keep his there have him try yours it will have more flavor since the seasoning gets into the meat easier!.
oh and if he's hungry he'll eat what ever you cook he may complain but oops he ate it and didn't die from it!.
My ex was so picky I stopped cooking for him and let him fend for himself!.
good luck
and keep him out of the kitchen that's your ground he'll only be in the way of your creativity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm!. I agree with the previous poster that you can try to find leaner meats to use when they're a part of a recipe!. Try using lean cuts in general, too!.
You could also try making smaller portions so he only gets one serving!. Fill up the rest of his plate with healthier foods!.
I don't suppose he'd eat stuffed veggies, or pasta shells stuffed with spinach and cheese, would he!? Try serving multi-course meals!. Start with a broth-based soup (heavy on the veggies, light on the meat/pasta), then have a colorful salad (try making marinated veggies)!. THEN move on to the main dish!.
I also suggest slowly trying to switch over to whole grain varieties of your starches (rice, bread, etc) if you can!.
Good luck to you!Www@FoodAQ@Com
