Question: URGENT !?!?!?!?!?!? Please Answer!!!!!!?
If I add half and half to a bottled pesto sauce while heating ti will it make it a pesto cream!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes it will make pesto cream!.
We use heavy cream in out restaurant but 1/2 and 1/2 will work!.
It also makes the pesto milder and it's really alot better then straight out of th jar pesto( most of which are to concentrated)!.

Keep it on a low heat and stir every 10-15 seconds!.
That will keep it from seperating!.
Don't make it bubble!.
Your looking for very warm and not hot!.

Remember if your going to put it on top of steaming hot pasta, the pesto only has to be warm( that's the best way)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

in a way yes but it wouldn't reduce, and give you that rich creamy texture, as well as just straight !. but it it isn't thick enough for you, you can always make a slury(cornstartch and water) and add it to the sauce once it comes to a boil!. but only a very small amount, like maybe 1/2Tbsp of cornstartch to a couple ounces of waterWww@FoodAQ@Com

It will make a creamy pesto, be careful if you are adding heat to it the cream doesn't curdle!. also, check for seasoning, you might need to add more s & pWww@FoodAQ@Com

Any dairy base will work!. Don't heat it too fast or there is the possibility that the half and half will break!. Try adding some heavy cream or canned evaporated milk to stabilize the sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It'll work alright-you'll need to check for salt'n'pepper levels and keep heat low to stop dairy splitting/burningWww@FoodAQ@Com

To make a true cream sauce, you should use whipping cream, but half and half will work!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sounds like you will, although you should add cream, but why would you want to make pesto creamWww@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like it would but you better not heat it too fast or it will curdle the milk yuck! Stir, stir, sitr and low heat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, and it's very delicious! I've done it before and it's great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends what it is your adding!. More detail please!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
