giggle giggle!! my dad said garlic gave him heartburn, so we just didn't use it in anything!. My mother was allergic to black and white pepper, so we didn't use that either in our ranch cookery!.

I rarely put either garlic or pepper in any thing!. My granddad was supposed to not have salt so I rarely use it in preparing foods, even now!.

You can leave it out and it won't be missed!. There is no law that you have to use the herbs and spices called for in any recipe!.

Or you can use sage, ground thyme, but If I were you, I would be very very judicious in using most herbs of this sort as they may all give him heartburn!. Use half the amount maybe of anything else!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sue's given you some good advice!.

I love some of those herbs that don't like me anymore!. I take a Zantac about 30 minutes before I eat one of those spicy meals and it reduces stomach acid enough so that I can enjoy them!.
I keep it down to twice a week!. But, by golly, one can't live on a bland diet everyday, even us old fogies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
