I am a single 50 year old former chef, so I vote for the cooking class, I am to old to teach sex ed and with my track record it would be a washout for sure, I cannot afford to be sued or punched out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I would want all 12 weeks cooking!. If I have not taught my child enough about sex to abstain from or use protection then I have not been a good parent!. The track record of schools teaching sex Ed doesn't have a good history as more teenagers are getting pregnant!. Cooking will help them learn to feed themselves!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'd say 3 weeks sex ed, 9 weeks cooking, and stress that there is still a lot to learn about both things beyond the time you spend on it in school!. I do think sex ed is important and a lot of parents are uncomfortable talking to their kids about it until it's too late, but at the same time it's also a private matter and the best resources would be to put them in touch with clinics, planned parenthood, sex counselors, etc!. Cooking, on the other hand, is a valuable skill regardless of your age, and can even transition into a career path in college (assuming this 3 month quarter is in high school)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm assuming you mean highschool!.
Sex-ed should be 1 week!. And the rest cooking!. But reinforcement is necessary in order for kids to make proper decisions concerning sexuality!.
I would suggest every week after that you assign some readings!. Which you would discuss every Monday with your students!. And let the students discuss the issues amongst themselves in groups of 3 or 4 or something like that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What an odd question to think about!.!.!.
They are both really important in different ways; sex ed is important because you need to learn about your body, the emotional effects of having sex, having relationships for the first time, various consequences, aswell as the biological side of it, cooking is important so you can be be healthy & understand what you need to eat and know how to feed and cook for yourself and in the future a family!. It also depends on the age group!.
If it is elementary school then maybe 2/3 week sex and 10/9 weeks cooking because you need to know the basics of sex, mostly in terms of where babies come from and also a bit about the emotions involved and respecting your body and that you should tell if an adult invades your personal space!.
If it was high school I would say!.!.!.maybe 7 weeks sex to get more in depth about diseases, contraception, peer pressure, emotions, understanding your body, etc and 5 weeks cooking as hopefully they'll already know some cooking related things by that age so they'll be easier to teach to, they'll at least be able to get the basics in this time!.
Both of these topics should be taught in school aswell as at home and it should be made clear that there should be ongoing learning outside of school, just because the topic has ended in school doesn't mean there isn't more to learn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
