Answers:
don't boil your corn, steam it!. just put about 2 inches of water in your pot!. sprinkle the corn with a little sugar!. cover your pot, bring the water to a boil, turn down to simmer, leave cover on and steam for 20-25 mins!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.you can tell by the smell when it's ready!. yummo!. i miss my native new england corn here in fl!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It isn't the cooking that makes it tough!. You have what we call mule corn around here!. It is too mature and only fit for the mules to eat!. Before you buy it pull back a bit of the shucks!. The smaller the kernels the younger the corn!. Next poke a kernel with your thumb nail!. It should squirt out corn juice which is milky in color!. Next either pull out a kernel and taste it or taste your nail!. It should taste sweet!. Cook it the day you buy it and do not refrigerate before cooking!. That will turn the sugars to starch!. Drop into salted boiling water and cook 5 to 10 minutes!. Corn is even better roasted, either on the grill or in the oven but this takes about 30 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

your corn may have been too mature before you ever cooked it!. when buying sweet corn, check a kernel by poking it gently with your thumbnail!. If it squirts a milky liquid very easily, its good to go!. If the liquid is thick or not at all, too mature and will be tough!. When I cook sweet corn, I drop the ears into boiling water and after the water returns to a rolling boil, a cook for another 5 minutes or so!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

that corn only needs to be cooked for about five minutes boiling time!. to find out if you have non tough corn is to press the corn before cooking and if is easy for your finger to go in and squirt out the juice then you have a very good cob!. sweet cornWww@FoodAQ@Com

I prefer Sweet Corn rather than Peaches and Cream!. Just bring the water to a boil and cook it for 5 to 10 min!. If you add salt to the water it will make the corn tough!.
I hope it helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

After the water starts boiling good, I let it cook 10 more minutes!. Or try nuking it in the microwave (still in the husk) for about 4 to 5 minutes!. Delicious!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Peaches & Cream is the local favourite!.
Either yours was picked in Mexico or cooked too long!.
No more than 10 minutes after the water boils!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boil until the kernels are soft!.
Drop the corn into boiling water and they should be done in three or four minutes!. If you over cook corn it gets very tough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
