What kind of kabob can I grill for the meat and potatoes kind of guy?!
I've been wanting to try grilling kabobs but my husband is very picky about what vegetables he eats!. He loves steak but I know he wont eat onions/tomatoes/peppers if they are grilled with it!.
Is there something simple I can try to cook that will entice him!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try cooking a kabob with steak or roast & chicken!. I have a rub that is great on both!. Alternate with corn on the cob & either new potatoes or baking potatoes sliced 1/4 inch thick & rubbed with olive oil!.
Rub Recipe -
2 tbs brown sugar
2 tbs chili powder
1 tbs paprika
1/2 tbs fresh lime juice
1 tsp cilantro
1 tbs olive oilWww@FoodAQ@Com

I love kabobs, and I've put just about everything on them:
eggplant (peeled chunks)
mushrooms (whole)
new potatoes
baby Yukon potatoes
pineapple (chunks)
shrimp (peeled)
Here's a hint for picky eaters who are used to grilled steak: avoid fancy gourmet marinades the first few times!. Instead just sprinkle the kabobs with dry Italian dressing mix or worcestershire sauce or some steak spices or rubs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

He likes meat and potatoes but not onions!? Geee, picky , picky!. Poor woman!.
Hmm well onions are a great antibacterial and so is garlic so try putting cloves of garlic with lamb and summer squash- brush it with olive oil before grilling and lay a few sprigs of rosemary over the kabobs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Geez, a man who doesn't like peppers, they go so good on a kabob!.!. but I understand, my man is picky as well!.
I'd say you could do a "meat-kabob" with cubes of steak, chicken, and potatoes!. The fact that he won't eat onions, tomatoes or peppers with the steak really defeats the purpose of a quality kabob!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you can find small new potatoes, they work fine!. They'll need to be par-boiled!. Or you can cut potatoes into small quarters, par-boil and slide them onto the skewer!. White mushrooms can be used also!.
Many recipes call for sirloin steak to be cut up in pieces to make ka-bobs with but I find grilled sirloin to be tough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
