I am a former chef and like to make them to, and Bovril is a seasoning from the UK, I would use 1 egg and 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, I like oregano, garlic, paprika, salt & pepper, rosemary is nice to, do not overload them with spices, a bit diced fresh onion give them flavour!.
I make mine in a cylinder shape as I eat mine on a pita with salad and hummus for my spread, but it is up to you, like beef lamb can be cook a bit underdone, as it is a bit dry if overcooked, so medium well is my recommendation, just lightly pink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I normally use an egg but fine shredded carrot also works well!. Sounds a bit odd but you can't actually taste it, it adds a bit of fibre!. For a pound of meat I normally use a medium carrot and grate it on the finest grate size and I also add a teaspoon full of bovril for a bit of extra flavourWww@FoodAQ@Com
1 egg and 1/2 - 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese is great!. Add some diced onions and garlic for even more flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
