Ground Beef (defrosted)
Chicken (frozen)
Bacon
Sausage

Can someone give me a good recipe for a romantic dinner for two from these basic ingredients!? Please nothing spicy as my husband is a wimp when it comes to spicy foods (lol)! Any help would be greatly appreciated!. Thanks so much in advance!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Welcome him home with comfort food!. Since you have defrosted ground beef make a meat loaf (you can add sausage into it if you like)!. Sides, mashed potatoes and any veggie you say you have!. The pie sounds yummy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
bacon-wrapped chicken, baked potato and steamed broccoli or cauliflower!. pick up a loaf of fresh Italian bread to go with it =)
for the chicken, wrap each with a slice of bacon, secure with a toothpick, then saute in a fry pan until chicken juices run clear!. remove the toothpicks before serving!.
pair your dinner with a nice bottle of wine as well! enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do you have a whole chicken or pieces!? I'll check back!. Can't come up with something without the facts!. Are you planning to serve wine or do you have some, also!?
edit: Although men like I think your husband might be like from your few words look extremely suspiciously at the "romantic dinner" situation!. (My ex was the he-man type) Most prefer the steak with pretty underwear to follow!.!.!.Sorry if that is offensive to you )
What is important to them is that it doesn't look too "fancy" with sauces and things they aren't familiar with!. (Your dessert has already clinched the deal anyway for success!)
Men love meat loaf and I have never failed with my Italian style meatloaf ( which is mixed with about one third sausage and the usual recipe of breadcrumbs with an egg) The difference is that when you form it you use your hand to put a trench down the middle and add your favorite pizza type toppings!.!.!.oh some mushrooms, olives pre-cooked diced green peppers and top this with mozzarella ( pick and choose "filling" using one like mushrooms or all) Then you mostly enclose the surprise filling and pour over a italian red sauce I use bottled now!. When I cooked for a 100 people it was worth it to make it!.!.!.
Well, I know that isn't exactly a recipe but you can easily google meatloaf for the amounts of ingredients!.!.!.
Anyhow, I just got off on a tangent anyway!. Since you probably don't have those ingredients on hand anyway!. BTW I am learning how to type so that is why I am willing to spend the time!.
For this dinner I would suggest you go with the chicken breasts!.!.!.with a quick no mess but good meal!. You have the dessert nailed anyway!
How about chicken cutlets with a cream gravy!.!.!.green beans with bacon and either mashed or boiled potatoes to use up the gravy!.
There are so many variations to do with the cutlets!. All easy!. If you have any nuts in your cupboard (almonds, pecans, hazelnuts or walnuts you can mix them with some bread crumbs to make a coating that is simple looking but really delicious!. Just toast them lightly to bring up the flavor and then grind or pound them to almost a flour - them mix with the bread crumbs, S & P and some chopped or dried parsley & you have a nutty coating for the breasts!.
If you don't have nuts, or can't eat them!.!.!.How about Parmesan cheese!? If so mix about 1/2 and 1/2 and add some dried basil or oregano!.!.!.not much)
Simply pound out the breast so they are pretty even and add S&P (if they are really large you may have to trim so they are not too thick!.) Then just do the old egg dip (2 T of milk) and then coat with crumbs, patting them so it won't fall off!.!.!.!.
Note: At this point you could have done this in advance and put them in the fridge with waxed paper or plastic wrap in between!.!.!.good idea so you have nothing to clean up while he is relaxing before dinner!.
Make a white sauce with butter & flour and use 1/2 & 1/2 or milk for your liquid + S & P!.!.!.Getting tired so google 'white sauce if you aren't familiar!.!.!.1 cup recipe will do - maybe more if he is a gravy guy!.!.!.
To cook the cutlets: Heat butter (1/2 oil if you like!.!.!.) on medium heat and gently put in the cutlets lower heat if looks like the butter is sizzling too much!. It doesn't take long depends how thin you made them!. I like thin and fast!. they should be a light to medium golden color!.
Serve on a platter with the green beans or broc on the sides (looks nice) and pour your cream sauce down the middle with the extra in a bowl or gravy boat on the side!. If you have a fresh tomato (I know you didn't say you did) slice it and put it on the plate on the ends- it would be a nice color hit!. Serve the potatoes on the side unless you decide to cut them in wedges or they are little red ones that you could put on the same platter!.
OK I'm done this is too huge!.!.!.but at least it isn't a cut and paste!. Hope you like at least one suggestion and do try the meatloaf some day!.!.
edit DANG tonight sorry i was so late ---I guess I didn't read the Q completely either!. sorry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Two rules of thumb, when it comes to romantic dinners:
Eat as much with your fingers, as you can - and pick as much as possible from the aphrodisiac list:
Aniseed
Asparagus
Almond
Arugula
Asafoetida
Avocado
Bananas
Basil (sweet basil)
Broccoli Rabe
Chocolate
Carrots
Coffee
Coriander (Cilantro seed)
Figs
Garlic
Ginger
Honey
Liquorice (licorice)
Mustard
Nutmeg
Oysters
Pine Nuts
Pineapple
Raspberries and Strawberries
Truffles
Vanilla
Wine
Maybe:
Appetizer:
Oysters
-------
Starter:
Salad of pineapple, avocado and shrimps, drizzled with a little limejuice!.
-------
Main:
Whole filets of skin- and boneless chicken breast, filled with a mixture of ground chicken with freshly and finely grated red beet, ginger, and rosemary
Side: roasted asparagus and figs and
a fresh salad of arugula and toasted pinenuts
(maybe with a mild vinaigrette of oliveoil, balsamicovinegar and dijonmustard)
-------
Dessert:
Honey-grillede bananas with almonds, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and perhaps a scoop of chocolatemousse with a touch of chili
-------
Later:
Chocolate dipped strawberriesWww@FoodAQ@Com
