How to make icing borders with out any tools?!
I have a wilton's cake decorator at home (its like a frosting gun) I use it to make those texturized borders on cakes!. I am at my mom's house though and forgot it!. Is there any other way to make these borders, besides just using a plastic bag!. The most creative thing I have thought of so far is using a tooth paste tube!. Any other ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can make a simple but pretty scalloped trim on a cake with a round-tipped butterknife or a narrow spatula!. Put just a little frosting on the tip of the knife or spatula, and place that little bit on the rim by pulling the knife down towards the cake's side, "scraping" a tiny, rounded scallop of icing onto the edge of the cake's top!. Repeat, touching the first scallop, and continue around the cake!.
Using a plastic bag can be interesting as well; you can style the opening with scissors to create a variety of results!. If you cut a narrow slit along the side instead of cutting off the tip, you can even make roses and leaves!.
A cookie press can work with stiff icings!. The border will be very wide, though!.
I hope your cake is tasty and beautiful!Www@FoodAQ@Com
