Bacon as the entree...?!


Question: Bacon as the entree!.!.!.!?
I put bacon out for dinner tonight planning to do BLT's and soup!. But I was wondering if anyone knows any other ways to do bacon as the main dish without using other meat!? I'd love some good recipes!Www@FoodAQ@Com

BLT Salad with Crostini

1/3 cup fat-free mayonnaise dressing or salad dressing
4 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons chopped oil-packed dried tomatoes, drained
1 clove garlic, minced
12 thin slices baguette-style French bread
6 cups torn mixed salad greens
3 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped (1 cup)
1 small cucumber, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced
1/2 cup cubed Muenster or mozzarella cheese (2 ounces)
8 slices turkey bacon, crisp-cooked, drained, and crumbled

For dressing, in a blender container or food processor bowl, combine mayonnaise or salad dressing, milk, dried tomatoes, and garlic!. Cover and blend or process until tomatoes and garlic are finely chopped!. Set dressing aside!.

Place bread slices on a baking sheet!. Bake in a 450 degree F!. oven for about 5 minutes or until toasted!. Turn slices over; spread with some of the dressing!. Bake 3 minutes more; set aside!.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl toss together salad greens, chopped tomato, cucumber, cheese, and bacon!. Drizzle with dressing; toss lightly to coat!. Serve with toasted bread slices!. Makes 4 servings!.

how buot breakfast for dinner!? you can have pancakes, eggs, and bacon!.

Pancakes
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour, stirred or sifted before measuring
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons melted butter

Preparation:
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt!. In a separate bowl, combine egg and milk; add to flour mixture, stirring only until smooth!. Blend in melted butter!. Cook on a hot, greased griddle, using about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake!. Cook until brown on one side and around edge; turn and brown the other side!. Quiche Lorraine
1 9-inch pie crust
8 slices bacon, chopped
2 cups Swiss Cheese, shredded, divided
4 green onions, chopped
6 large eggs, beaten
1 cup whipping cream
1/2 salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash of ground red pepper

FIt pie crust in 9-inch quiche pan (You can use a deep dish type pie plate!.
Prick bottom and sides of piecrust with a fork!. Bake at 400 F for 3 minutes!. Remove from oven and gently prick with fork!. Bake piecrust 5 more minutes!.
Cook bacon in skillet until browned; add chopped onions and cook one more minute!. Drain well and sprinkle evenly in the piecrust!. Top with 1 cup of cheese, and set aside!.

Combine eggs and next 5 ingredients, stirring well!. Pour mixture oner the bacon and top with remaining one cup cheese!.

Bake at 350 F for 35 minutes or until set!. Let stand 10 minutes before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How about a carbonara sauce for pasta!?

Ingredients (serves 4)

* 2 teaspoons olive oil
* 200g sliced bacon, roughly chopped
* 2 eggs (at room temperature)
* 1/2 cup cream
* 3 garlic cloves, crushed
* 2 egg yolks (at room temperature)
* 75g grated parmesan cheese

Method

1!. Heat oil in a large, non-stick frying pan over medium heat!. Add bacon and garlic!. Cook, stirring, until the bacon is crisp!. Drain a towel!.
2!. Whisk egg yolks, eggs, cream and three-quarters of the parmesan together in a bowl!. Season with salt and pepper!.
3!. Cook your pasta (fettucine is perfect for this) and drain!.
4!. Add egg mixture and bacon mixture to pasta!. Season with salt and pepper!. Toss over low heat until well combined!. Serve with remaining parmesan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could make Luthuanian Kugles (serve with applesauce and sour cream and a nice green salad on the side!.)
Kugelis Ingredients
2 pound bacon pepper
8 eggs 1 can (16 oz) Evaporated milk
1 large onion Crisco shortening
salt 10 pound Potato Idaho

Instructions for Kugelis
Peel and grate all the potatoes (watch those knuckles)!. Drain the liquid from the grated potratoes!. Cut up bacin into short strips!. Dice up onion!. Place the bacon and onion into a frying pan and fry up!. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees!. Drain most of the grease from the bacon-onion mixture!. Pour this into the grated potatos and mix well!. Add the eggs, evaporated milk, salt and pepper and mix!. Coat the bottom and sides of a baking pan(s) with Crisco!. Pour the mixture into the pan(s)!. Put the pan in the 450 degree oven!. Bake for 30 minutes (the top should be yellow/brown)!. Remove after 30 minutes, cover with aluminum foil and return to a 350 degree oven!. Bake for 1 1/2 hours!. Remove from oven and let sit for 20 minutes before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

3 Slices of Bacon!.
2 Eggs!.
Fry the bacon until it is almost to the degree you want on medium heat!.
Whisk the eggs together and pour in on top of the bacon!.
Cook until the bottom has set!.
Place under the grill in the oven until the top has set!.
Some grated cheese optional!.

Watch that you don't burn the handle!.

I think that sounds like a WONDERFUL meal! BLT is one of my favorites, and I like it for ANY meal (including breakfast) If you have any avocados, slice & add them too!.!.!.!.!. You did not mention fish, so here are some quick ideas with bacon!. You can wrap the bacon around either scallops or shrimp and bake!. As an appetizer, you could wrap bacon around slabs of cantelope!
